If You Could Have One Talent What Would It Be

Updated on April 4, 2016

For Me That's Easy

I would want the ability to find people in their darkest hour

When they are lonely and vulnerable

Weak and sad

Lost and confused

Losing hope and faith

I would say hold on a second

All is not that bad

It is just hidden for the moment

Just think back to an early time

When things in your life were going well

Feel the passion and the power

You were the happiest you've ever been

All the light is shining on and reflecting off of you

You are an angel with wings

You have the ability

To dream the happiest of all things

Here to love the things that you enjoy

Don't let things bother you

You can't solve a problem when you are thinking irrational

Experiencing different feelings of disappointment and frustration

Try to understand the reasons behind the feelings

Make a list

Add to the list when you feel the need

To look back at a moments notice

Then learning to switch your feelings

To be motivated and excited

Taking on a challenge

Using your creative power for good not bad

Slowly learning the difference

So next time when problems seem to come like steam from a locomotive

Instead of being anxious and uncomfortable

Think of the moment like a tea kettle ready to boil

Turn down the heat to slow things down

Then shut it off completely when it begins to make noise

You have been part of all the changes

Seeing and feeling every step of the way

You became out of control and soon gained confidence and knowledge

Learning how to take the energy and transform it into something special

Not hiding it or covering it up

Putting it to good use

Examining it like a doctor examines a patient

Not giving it a tempoary fix

Using a good life long home remedy

That will work anywhere at anytime

For anyone in the world

Now you can teach others

So they to can feel better

Not just for a little while

Whenever needed

Use again and again

Act like a cell phone camera taking a selfie

Carefully recording every word and action

Putting cutting edge technology to the test

Doing a job it was made for

An awesome flat screen t.v. can't help you

Neither can a fancy hot rod

Not a stack of hundreds piled high

Even a delicious meal cooked to perfection

Only fills your body temporarily and hours later you will be hungry again

So if today is a good day ride it like the wind

If today is not the best

Use a couple of simple tricks that work

To make your day brighter

See what's under the covers

By first taking a peek

Then fixing it little by little

By looking more and more

When you are ready

It can be even more fun

When you share it with a friend

Food for thought. I would have to say my poetic talent and I would also like to have some artistic talent but my drawing leaves a lot to be desired.

DDE I often enjoy your writings and your style. I believe we all compliment each other instead of being in a fierce competition trying to trick, out smart like so many reality t.v. shows want us to act like and believe. Thank you for sharing and caring.

Great writing and mind yo u have to write in this way. I have talent and use it in my special way. I like the way you let it all out in your own words.

Your wisdom grows by leaps and bounds, my dear friend! This is like a peek behind the murky curtain which confuses others.

Dream, you encourage and inspire with very practical scenarios from your everyday life. It is a blessing to know and own your gift, and then use it as effectively as you do.

We all already have that talent. You can use it if you choose. Or you can let the problems of others drag you down when you try. Or, worse, never try at all. Empathize without losing your own peace and don't carry your love or anyone else's around like it's a heavy burden.

Your writing has improved so much from just a few years ago and is still improving. It's great therapy to write things out. Helps me regain my balance if I lose it. Thankfully, it's a rare thing to be so far of balance I fall in a hole. Hope today is better than the other day. People don't like Monday's, but I do. If I didn't, I could say I've had one of the Mondayest Mondays in a long time. LOL. Dumped my lunch on myself as I tried to pack it and had to change my shirt and then right bad I had to leave or be late to work, I discovered I had a flat tire. Oh well. New day, new week!
