If my Heart Could Write a Song

Updated on January 28, 2017

If my heart could write a song,

I wonder what it would be about,

Would it write a joyous tune

Or one filled with hidden grief

Would it be one of pure love,

Or a song of broken dreams and promises

Would it be filled with passion,

Or one filled with tears and pain

Would it write of joyous days,

Or lonely times of sadness

Would it be about making changing

Or bittersweet with weakness

Would it be one of success

Or one of rapid failure

Would it be about learning

Or a song full of confusion

Even though I am not quite sure

Just what song my heart will write

I'm sure it will be quite nice

Full of real life things and dreams

I am sure your heart would write a tune

      worthy of you

Filled with love and kindness too

      Written for and by you

.....lovely title to die for ......words that follow remind me of a Celine Dion song (which is a compliment by the way) and it swept me off my feet which is the purpose of a contempory love song isn't it - but this one will last forever ...... lake erie time ontario canada 2:10am full moon , red wine , and a dip in the lake on a very warm night
