A product of a dysfunctional family, Audrey's burning desire to help others to love themselves led her to the study of psychology at UCLA.

Illusion In A Safety Net - A Poem About Dreams

Silent noise invades the night

Images of purple light

Floating spheres dance on and on

Reappearing spinning on

Reality with all its malice

Deep dimensions offer solace

Arousing passions lost through time

Claim silver networks so sublime

Timeless treasures await the giving

Accentuated by the living

Angels wings of gossamer thread

Hover around the damaged bed

What is the stuff where dreams are born

Weaving a spell till early morn

Exchanging mirrors with different faces

A caravan exotic places

Gradiant hideaway to rest

Safe to nestle the calming breast

Illuminate the path at night

To rise again in mornings’ light.

How could I resist a poem about beautiful dreaming? Well I couldn't! lol I love the poem and you always have amazing images to accompany them. Perfect!

I like how you describe dreaming! And I have heard a lot of them watching people sleep - the best thing I ever heard anyone say was "cheeseburger". I said that is why the guy isn't sleeping go get him a big mac! lol

Dear Audrey - Thank you. I have no idea how I wrote this poem. It happened one very late evening when I found myself trying to interpret a dream I had. It was as though someone else or something else was inside of me. You have inspired me - so I will put pen to paper and see what happens. I'm so grateful to you!

You live in a world of music and this poem proves it - the words are just perfect as lyrics for a love song. I personally prefer the modern form of poetry based entirely on metaphor and where rhyme is almost never used.

I read (and commented) on the poem you wrote as a tribute of love for the loss of your son. The emotions are expressed with such power and intensity that any reader can feel your pain and share your tears; the poem was extremely moving, real, tragic and painful.

I also read the poem dedicated to your sister and again, the emotions are strong and the joy authentic. Being able to express emotions with such great authenticity makes you a real artist whether you choose poetry or songs as a vehicle

      Dear Petra ~

I am so honored to receive the feedback from an expert like yourself. You have sacrificed your own precious time and skill to help me strive to become a better poet. Thank you.

I understand now, exactly what I must do. I will write more poetry using metaphors. For me, that means I must digg deep and release emotions that are painful. This "releasing of pain" is therapeutic. I resist on some level because it's easier to pretend the painful memories never happened.

How do I thank you for the new journey I am about to take? Do you believe in angels? You are mine.

Such a nice comment from you! My father enjoyed writing poetry so I come by it naturally. But I find that I have to be inspired when I start a poem, otherwise nothing comes to me. Your poetry is amazing!
