MichaeLuna - I'm Not Like Other Girls - Part 7 - Stairway to Luna

Updated on August 16, 2017

Luna's Tears

The barriers that she had broken with her own piercing cries, had opened a pathway from Earth to Luna's realm of despair.

She heard Michael's scream as if it was just over her shoulder. It was impossible to stop herself from searching for him through the mist. Her vision cleared, allowing her to see him as if he were right before her. His gentle smile enfolded her heart so effortlessly. She felt for an instant that his power was far greater than her own. She swore she would someday see him victorious, happy, and fulfilled in every way. Then, as had always happened when thinking of him, the sinking feeling returned.

The two voices within her struggled with each other until she felt like crying.

"I could bring you back to me!"

"No, Luna...you'd only have to send him home again..."

"I could somehow care for him here. They're hurting him down there anyway!"

"It isn't your place to intervene!"

"I MISS him!"

And so the conversation went, assaulting her mind from both sides, until she was weary. She couldn't even begin to think anymore.

Blinded by despair and salty tears, Luna curved within herself to forget.

A gentle hand stroked her hair. A quiet voice caressed her pain and melted it from existence. He could not possibly be there, except for the fact that he was.

"It's you!"

Neither soul could be bothered with the how's or why's of the miraculous meeting. All that mattered was that suddenly they could touch each other. He wasn't just a vision. She wasn't a mere dream. Her heavenly home appeared around her as beautiful as ever it had seemed. His presence made it perfect once more.

He stood before her looking deeply into her eyes, the color transforming to an aqua-hue that her tears created. While still sitting on a feathery chair, Luna pulled him to her, sobbing into his abdomen. The warmth of her tears through his thin white shirt, filled him with passion. He stroked her midnight black curls and kissed the top of her head.

"I've missed you! I can't forget..."

"I know," Michael assured her, "I've always felt you around me...but I couldn't remember who you were...why Luna? Why do you hide from me?"

"We're in separate worlds. We don't belong together...this way..."

"No, Luna. We can't be separated. It's your illusion. You never really leave me, and it hurts me that you try."

"This can't be...you know it can't be."

"You tell me that over and over...still...it IS." Michael reached down, sweetly lifting her chin with his fingers, tilting her face toward his, and compelling her to look in his eyes, "We can't help it."

Luna reached up for him, and he sunk to the ground on one knee. He caressed her face with trembling hands, breathing in her sweetness, etching every moment in his mind, so that he would never forget again. He leaned in to kiss her eager lips and she sighed in relief and ecstasy.

It was beyond her control now. She hadn't been able to keep him away, and she loved the feeling of utter helplessness. The helplessness was filled with freedom. When Luna fell into his arms they no longer trembled. He held her close. His strength surprised and thrilled her.

"Michael. I don't think I'll ever be able to let you go again."
