"Imagination" by Eric Wayne Flynn

"Imagination"

My childhood friend

My lifetime lover

The best company I've ever known

A thousand failures we've created

Without you I wouldn't be me

The person I've always tried to escape

Im finally settling in to this skin

Tonight we will stay up late

Just you and me

      Eric,

Thank you to telling me what you did: picked out the art for the poem.

I like to know those things from others; I do not think there is any set of rules, and openess in 'whatever" may happen is good- I got some "weird' things happening in my brain as far as poetry, art, and overall thoughts- to the good! Keep going Eric! Your an inspiration to others like myself.

      An invitation:

You may want to visit my page called "Orangebound." When I was creating the series of events concluding this piece, believe me, I had a lot on the table from the start. When it got down to it- for me, I had to create my own collage and photography and art pieces: the one collage is on top, and it's other is last. In between are the others. It was enjoyable the whole way; sometimes I have nothing on the table and wa la as if magic, it's there!

Take a look if you have time. Some of my others are inspired as told in my Backgrounds, respectively for each hub. I am new to Hubpages and right now I am just plunkin what I think fits and seeing what others are thinking- it's fun!

Keep following your own unique style and voice, and judgements- your verse truly is praiseworthy and in the short time I have been here I have been appreciative of your efforts in writing.

      Glad to visit,

      pochinuk

Thanks Pochinuk, I really enjoy your reviews and visits. I also love the art, I take a long time to pick out a picture for each poem that fits, sometimes I really score a good one, this was one of those times.

      Hi Eric,

The most thought provoking I 've read on imagination.

      Your imagery :

      "...My childhood friend

      My lifetime lover

The best company I've ever known..."

Your free flowing words continue and finally like a motile marine animal you freely swim into it's existence. (i,e, skin).

Ekphrasis!: I like this poem.. with the art: the swirly aquatic bold lines above his head.

I can relate Eric, I have the same best friend. I miss him when he's gone and welcome him back with open arms and mind when he returns. Good poem, voted up.
