Immortality Ode - A Modern Poem

Updated on December 10, 2012

I don’t want to be immortal,

I don’t want to seek immortality,

Only the poison I need

To win the fight inside me

For keeping my soul intact.

No case, no pain, no report

Will be published.

My dead body will not create

Any frowning depression.

No need to be immortal,

I don’t need the immortality gift

Of the civilization trades in destruction

And makes money from blood;

I don’t need the immortality

From the civilization themed

With disparity and hatred,

Choking the green and blue

Fairies of earth, sea and the sky

With the mechanical arms of development,

The loss of life is measured by

The numbers of statistics

By the civilization in which

I do not make my existence eternal,

Give me some swift poison.
