Life is series of impressions and expressions. The emotional punctuations are what make the expressions and impressions meaningful and lively. Impressions are emotional spotlights on the mind. Emotions need an outlet and the outlet becomes the expressions of life. Poetry like music, is a beautiful expression of life's impressions. Here are some of my impressions of life, expressed in poetry. It not only channels my emotions, but helps me make it a stone of remembrance for posterity. Expressions
Oh! The love that wells in me,
I freely want to give,
My laugh, my song,
My heart felt joy,
Every moment that I live!
The sprightly jig that I dance
In my mind and the peace,
That keeps me still,
I want to live,
And of my life, have my fill!
Like a bubble pure,
So light, so clear,
I float among the clouds,
Filled with celestial peace,
To earthly life I cease!
Pure water gurgles within,
The melody of chiming bells,
The dance of life, bliss so pure,
Exhilarating emotions fresh and sure,
Ready to burst within!
Will I explode in a million hues,
As I try to contain inside?
Like a feather light,
My heart takes flight,
In gleaming joy, so bright!
What can I do,
But give it to you?
From the fullness of my heart
These songs of love and bubbling joy,
I hope you will enjoy!
Impressions
I miss you when you are away,
My world turns bleak and grey,
I miss your voice, your quiet embrace,
The warmth of your breath on my face!
The smell of you, so comforting,
Your smile that takes my breath away,
The eyes that track me constantly,
I miss you terribly!
The touch of your love, so tender,
Epic emotions render,
Your quiet presence beside me,
I fondly remember!
The wait becomes so endless,
The minutes like years, I confess,
Impatience is my middle name,
I long to have you back again!
Sleep seems to betray me,
Time becomes my enemy,
A few lonely days,
Seem like eternity!
