In Payment for Excellence

To what are we made

if mediocre is our state

if status quo

populous mean

that which is know

and wanted to be seen

if we chose sequels

of that which made the news

replaying, reprising

things that made reviews

unchallenged are the norms

unwilling to pay the cost

of flying the finger

at the masses

or the Powers

that bind the others

think, my friends

of every quantum leap

made by odd balls

and the unpopular

who challenged what is

declaring a dream for what should be

making their stamp

unalterably clear

till their odd dream

is what we hold dear

so who are you

shall I know you one day

because you dared to dare

let your fantasy play

shouting loud your individuality

seeing the world as you do

or are you comfortable

if so

I feel sorry for you.

Peace my fair lady, but not Adieu. I wait upon thy word on other things that I proffer in general but might be happily served to hear of them from thee anon.

@b. Malin I don't believe you to be capable of being anything other then an excellent individual. I will even spell it right to prove my point.

@the egg and we You are quite right, the note of excellence should always get its cues from attention to detail. A few moments of brush up make me feel a lot more confident in my ability to be excellent.

Very Interesting Poem Jaggedfrost. If we are Not Individuals, then what are we? I hope I never say or do, or write something that I don't believe in or stand by. My Vote my individual Vote, of UP goes to you

Some might say that excellence includes knowing how to spell "excellence."

@IsadorasThought lol I have responded every time you have made annotations unless you are talking about your comments on certain questions I wrote answers to?

Very well said and I agree with you. Being individual is what makes us interesting. Went through a phase of trying to be one of the corporate masses myself and boy did I end up being miserable. So nice to read a poem too, I do far too little poetry reading these days. Voted up.
