In Search of My Beloved: (Poem) By Manatita

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

Searching every day from dawn till sunset,

Within, without, below; above…

The day is ended,

And all are in the lap of sleep.

In life and dreams our love continues.

O Beloved, where are You?

I thought my love flew faster than a meteorite,

And yet, somehow,

You manage to elude my grasping heart.

My trust in the mundane has now reached zero tolerance;

I only know that I must feel You, ceaselessly in my being.

Celestial Love

Come, O Lover of life and death;

Let us journey together.

Who will caress my wounds and lick my garments blood,

As it regurgitates from impediments of millennia?

Drunk with the liqueur of Love,

I wish to see You dancing in my Soul;

Creating rhapsodies so beautiful,

As to evoke Mozart from the bliss of Heaven.

Adorable Delight, send me in sweet repose,

Let me be cradled in Your bosom of tranquillity,

Only to wake when You and I,

Have become fused in bed together.

– Manatita 10th may, 2014.

      Thank you.

      I know of Kahlil. One of my favourites too.

      Sometimes I speak of the search; sometimes I wish to stress the yearning, sometimes as in Chelaji's Sojourn and Paradise Regained, I speak of the experience. I get joy in expressing many moods at different standpoints for the benefit of the devotee.

      Very passionate and heart--felt, dear Manatita.

      I recall reading or hearing a metaphor likening taking a journey to eating a banana, each example presenting the choice of how one wants to enjoy it. If one chooses to go by jet plane, the take-off and the landing are virtually the whole of it, like rushing between the two ends of the fruit, so that they are all one experiences of that journey or that fruit. No real taste of the fruit itself. No real melding with the places along the way on the journey.

      To really experience and soak up all the many individual stops and parts of a journey, one must relish it all for itself as it comes, not just for a destination and not just for picking out only the best parts or stops along the way.

      This life is a journey from birth to death and is full of experiences of all kinds, all being essential parts of this earthly journey. If we are too intent on a 'search' for whatever we already have in mind, we are likely to miss the surprises and wonders of which we may have had not the slightest concept. Same with being open to love. We must present ourselves to love and trust love to find & recognize us. "Open to love" is the key. If we have it a all figured out how it must be, we are most likely to be disappointed.

      On our journey, if it is to be a full one, we must fully experience both joy and sorrow, delight and disappointment, emotional abundance and famine, to really have made the journey. To be too focused on a preconceived idea of what it is or what we want it to be is to miss out on its being the most it could be. That is to be denied full benefit of the whole amazing experience and discovery of the master plan in it. Each part is vital to the viability of it. Its reality is all we are able to fully experience during the journey and only if we are simply open to it.

      One of my favorite poets, Kahlil Gibran describes love:

      Since we must go by something. I chose Faith. It is that which tells me that the 'Find' is beautiful beyond belief!

      Life is one challenging search; and the find, real or imaginary, is quite worth it. Beautiful lines as always!
