In Serenity a Mind

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Temptation to fall for the contrition of failure

haunts an enlivened mind,

always striving for perfection

and the secure grasp of ensuing life.

Yet in truth perfection reigns,

no accident of human will,

but a state of being within the natural world.

Failure should only ever be a key,

to unlock a new frame of reference,

a gained perspective in flux and always willing.

We should never be lost in the past,

the pieces of life but a shadow of reflection,

a realisation of inadequacy and potential.

Each step no matter how faltered,

should not be judged but loved

for what is presents in finality.

Relationships, circumstances and pain,

are all gifts to an open heart,

no matter how they may appear.

What holds you to the hurt

is your need to understand and accept,

to let rivers wide and oceans deep be.

It is never about intent but acceptance

by a loving heart,

able to rise above the disdain of ignorance.

In serenity a mind ceases to judge

but accepts the path of trial,

the path of learning and empowered life.

To remain within the arms of love

is no easy feat, no easy path,

yet it defines who we are

when in the presence of contention.

Love is all one needs, like a soft nurturing blanket

over all that seeks to teach through pain.

Acceptance not judgement

is an action to be practiced in life,

a perspective of which to aspire.
