"In This Room"

A colorful spectrum

Textures n tints of reds, oranges, pinks, yellows and greens

One of the most colorful rooms you ever scenes

The setting of an ongoing war

With ones self, the self remains

A self imposed prisoner of fear i n chains

The chameleon; capable of change

Complacent

Looking at the walls, switching, shifting and shuffling surroundings

Converting shapes from within this room

Colors, words and sounds constructed in the name of survival

For breath is drawn in this room

Deep n dark tones

Light n sunny swaying in the breeze

A tango with the angel and the devil

Down on his knees, in this room

Pleading for the souls at play outside

Not knowing any better

Not knowing any better am i

Wings made of paper

Off a cliff we jump, scribbling in the sky

Falling on down back into this room

White bones crash against a pillowy rainbow of feathers

Back on a bed in this room

Dreaming of a better way

Out

In the distance

In the stars

In this room

You can't see Jupiter, you can't see Mars

Just a lil tree with thirsty roots

Looking out the window from in this room

I look out and see

You're thirsty too

Is there a meaning or explanation for the last line "You' re thirsty too" so I can pull it all toghter? Very dark poem but well written.

Everyone is in a room. Their mind, heart, planet, universe are all relative to a "room", a space we create to exist in, all subjected to a fate in this room. Wanting a new experience, thirsty in this room.

Very deep poem and very well-written. Creating a space to exist...beautifully said and so true.

You don't have to leave the room Eric. If you have vivid dreams, anything is possible.
