In my Heart - a love poem

Updated on September 7, 2015
In my heart
In my heart

In my heart

I wrote this poem for one of my daughters who lives and works overseas with her husband. Even though we are a hemisphere and many hours apart in distance, she is always in my heart and my thoughts. Like many people, we Skype and text all the time but she is closest to me, her Mum, in my heart...and always will be.

Always in my heart
Always in my heart

In My Heart

You're always in my heart

No matter where I go

No matter what the day may bring

In my heart I love you so

You're always on my mind

And all throughout the day

My thoughts so quickly run to you

My heart I must obey

You're always in my heart

And though you're far away

My love grows stronger with each day

In my heart you'll always stay

I have two daughters and five grandchildren and I'm so lucky because they all live close by; I can imagine how hard it must be to be apart.

This is a beautiful, simply crafted, poem to show your daughter how you feel and it touched my heart too.

      Dear Marion,

Great poem. Touching and heart-felt. I was right in my post about following you, you are a God-gifted writer.

Keep up the great work, and if you like, I dabble a bit in abstract/prose poetry (e.g. "Stealing Caroline," "Our Last Lover's Dance") you might explore.

I am honored to meet and follow you.
