In the Arms of Twisted Love

By Tony DeLorger © 2013

In turn, my senses fill with anticipation,

each one a step closer to surrender,

and in your eyes the key to my demise,

my soul under your elicit spell.

And I, as helpless as a lamb,

see not the dangers of mortal end,

rather, the sweet nectar of endless bloody life,

and the power of a dream out of control.

One step more and I am done,

that one moment that defines life and death,

as the moth emerges from cocoon,

clueless but winged.

And that moment arrives,

me, writhing in painful bliss,

the life draining away in glossy red rivulets,

glutinous sucking eclipsed by pleasured groans.

As light fades in my human world,

the body falls limp all power gone,

my mind set free in images unknown,

flashing, blinking light-starved moments.

And when I awaken,

my senses now filled with hunger, of a different kind,

translucent glowing haze of sight,

energy flashing, skin tingling, sounds reverberating.

What then am I now, in this strange new world.

Another soul lost to the night, from life to death to life, to live in a world of bloodsoaked hunger.

Thanks Deonne. I believe there should be no subjects off limits; simply, the writing is the art, the subject the canvas. Thanks for dropping by.

A very interesting and different kind of work. A horror kind of feel but yet tasteful. You certainly have a way with words. Voted up and shared.

Thanks a lot Wayne, a nice thing to say. I think anything can be approached in subject matter, provided there is a certain amount of expertise and thought put into the execution.

Glad you enjoyed it Anil. I'll do my best to keep you on your toes and come up with new ideas.

Fantastic work Tony. I love these dark genres you sometimes write. I remember being skeptical about posting some of my similar pieces, but you have been one of those writers who have shown me that not only can it be acceptable, but that it deserves its place among any of the poetry styles.

Stop! Stop! Stop! First of all, you have to tell me the truth that how much potential of writing amazing poems do you have? One by one, you are sharpening your writing power in such a way that it is difficult to touch your ideas. Amazing one, voted it up. Waiting for such another one. Thanks.
