In the Depth of My Madness

Updated on November 4, 2012

Hammer falls on my chest

air tightens out my lungs

cylinder locks in its place

each hole a black hole

chambers aligning with the stars

her blue eyes, luminous iridescent

calm of the ocean floors that beckon

me with her promise of sweet dreams

maims and kills all candles

that are blown out, ending

with the digits twenty six

the laughter, that smile,

the fear in your face can’t hide

the inevitable spin in my round

click clack

of the whirring hands making gamble

with alphabets to construct

a story of human keystrokes.

I place my barrel on your head,

your heart know full well I committed

no sins stench of liquor envelops

this vanguard to make our pain stop

cold trigger of our locked gaze

reveals a dankness in the shadows

six bullets foresee red lips and mascara

and I ask, who are you with?

do you think of me?

every fruit I gorge leaves me

unsatisfied, not a single new chamber

unwilling to replace the ashes I arise

out of you like Lazarus from the tomb,

I stumble, I walk in depth of that bullet swarm

a new dawn tickles my nostrils

and the hairs on my skin

which whisper that I love and

I loved true.

This is the first hub I've read of yours and I am blown away by your gift of poetry. Your incredible use of words and emotion stirred my soul and makes me want more. I can't wait to read more of your genius poetry.

Thank you very much for your kind words. You, and my fellow supporters, are the reason why I write. I will continue to provide escape out of this darkened world to a luminescent full moon, where we can tread the waters, rocking, and row softly in the cool night.

I hope you brought a jacket with you.

Holy shite - a combination of Tom Waits, Warren Zevon and Charles Bukowski - and all you!!!!! Can't say I've read too much like this at the Hub and that's what makes it so marvelous - you are a Hub gem and certainly one of a kind - I will return but have to head out the door for the graveyard shift (literally speaking) So glad we met though - you really know how to 'rock' your words - sending good energy and warm wishes from lake erie time ontario canada 9:48pm
