Poetry is one of Lori's favorite ways to write about memories, express feelings, and inspire others through her faith in God.

Tom

I recently lost a very dear friend - Tom. He was 91 years young and without a doubt the most godly, optimistic, encouraging, prayerful, and faith-filled man I have ever known. He was the most remarkable man to ever grace my life. I loved him more than any man I have ever known. When people met Tom, they knew they were unconditionally loved and accepted; thus changed in a special way. When he passed away this past November, his daughter called me with the news. I had spent much time with him during his last week. When I got off the phone Psalm 16:11 immediately came to mind - "In Thy presence is fulness of joy; at Thy right hand are pleasures forevermore." As I meditated on this, I began to think of what glorious joy and pleasure Tom was experiencing in heaven. This poem came out of that meditation. It is Tom (or anyone in heaven that we know) telling us about that experience. Perhaps it will encourage you or someone you know who has lost a believing loved one.

Pleasures Forever More

I am in the land

Where His glory dwells,

Where His presence and pleasures

Are forevermore.

O’ the fullness of joy

That transcends thoughts and words;

The inexplicable bliss of His love

No human imagination can touch.

The inexplicable bliss of His love.
The inexplicable bliss of His love. | Source

In my earthly tent,

eternity was in my heart;

Now it is my reality.

I am vibrantly alive…

in paradise...

with Him.

Christ and I await you

beloved ones,

To share in this rapturous glory forever.

I am vibrantly alive...in paradise...with Him.
I am vibrantly alive...in paradise...with Him. | Source

Hold fast until He comes,

Which is soon.

Spread the thrill of this hope

To the hopeless

To the brokenhearted,

To the lost and the forsaken,

And to your enemies,

whom He loves,

For the time is near.

He tarries yet for a while more,

For He loves and died for every one.

Be faithful to the end.

Your crowns await you

And one day we will lay them

At His feet together,

And we will worship our king.

His love is so amazing, really so amazing.
His love is so amazing, really so amazing. | Source

We send our love -

And let me tell you,

His love is so amazing,

Really so amazing.
