In the Spring

Updated on March 9, 2015

It was in the spring

that you came

and looking deep into your eyes

we both fell just like Jack and Jill

tumbling into a love so fine

just you and I

as nature awakened all around

and tulips began to bloom

it was in the spring

after the snows had melted

when you took my hand

and smiled at me

our first kiss

was as sweet as honey

the perfume of lilacs was in the air

and my heart took wing

it was in the spring

and I just wanted to sing

of a love so very fine

that had come my way just in time

even though like a delicate butterfly

you flew away from me

by the time the summer breezes came

I was glad for the time we had

then I could close my eyes and dream

of how our love had flared

like a sudden spark now here and gone

remember your loving face and smile

it was in the spring

There's something about finding new love in the spring that makes it fresh and exciting. Maybe it's that Nature is flourishing with new life. The air smells wonderful and the heart fills with happiness.

Nice poem, Rasma and beautiful pictures!

This touched my heart and reminds me of some of my seasonal poems. It is nice to recall memories to walk in the past can make one smile sweetly.

I will share with Twitter and pin on my re-pin board at Pinterest.

      Have a beautiful tomorrow,
