In the Wake of Serenity

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

The elegant simplicity of love,

a hearts single-minded devotion

to a soul chosen above all others,

is a miraculous and sacred gift.

In surrender, love, like an opened flower,

pervades the breath of being,

inspires, elevates and shines

through the hearts of the beloved.

Its simplicity a serene whisper of truth,

a balance between what is sought,

and what is possible,

for in love possibility is immeasurable.

How simple the decision to love,

how fortunate its acceptance,

its warm surrounds an embrace of capture,

a stolen heart imbued with the pain of separation.

Only bliss can afford two souls as one,

entwined in the surrender of peaceful rest,

lost in the arms of passion,

strong in knowing devotion.

Serenity becomes the experience,

when there is no contention,

not misconceptions,

only sharing life, without resistance.

Thanks Ghaelach. I'm glad you liked it. Yes I think it's reasonably uncommon for men to write love poems, I guess because we are supposed to be strong and less sensitive than women. But I think that some of us have a strong feminine side. Maybe its being artists, who knows. But I am a born romantic- it's who I am. Thanks for reading, my friend. Take care.

      Hi Tony.

      An amazing poem.

When the ladies write love poems they have a women's touch that we can feel. But when a man writes a love poem it feels total different. Is it that men don't normally write love poems so when they do it is something special??

Never the less a wonderful poem.

Take care Tony and have a nice day.

      LOL Ghaelach
