In Memories (poem)

Updated on February 25, 2015

I spent the night in memories of you

Was it a dream or breath that heaven sent

A whispered bliss or timeless wonderment

Each heartbeat was a pulse of pleasure new

-

Here in this place which paradise has lent

Were wishes waiting promise to come true

A mythic mist two lovers wandered through

A purpose we were free to reinvent

-

Then from some darkness came the scent of rain

Some clouds that came to take you far away

And placed my soul on isle of misery

-

And in your sleep you must have shared my pain

Our memories said more than words can say

For in your smile all Joy returned to me

Beautiful poem! I've wondered if that was possible - feeling someone's pain in a dream. Thanks for sharing.
