Incandescent Tokens of Love

Sweet certainly persists

         Though mind resists

                  Its impact.

My heart, restored,

Now turns toward

         Tomorrow –

Subdued,

Renewed,

And whole,

         Intact.

I will go on!

I will!

         ______© Nellieanna H. Hay

Just now

You touched me

With your mind.

And it

Enveloped me

In kind.

It happens

Frequenly.

                                              Every happening’s

                                                  A Happening!

                                      _____© Nellieanna H. Hay

I may have had

Till midnight ~

But mere moments late,

I found a pumpkin

By the gate.

My carriage ride

Had disappeared,

My coachmen had retired!

All I thought I had desired

Had simply vanished

In the night or sea.

             ~♥~

But miracle of miracles ~

My homeward barefoot walk

Along the fields by moonlight

Was magical ~ incandescent!

And all the more romantic ~

For you were there for me!

.

______© Nellieanna H. Hay

My excitement

Tingles,

Tantalizes

The moment.

Visions

Overlap,

Obstructing

Clarity.

But this is It

    Today

         And I rejoice in It,

             Just as It is!

______© Nellieanna H. Hay

~♥~

Yet, love spontaneously.

Not because you must,

But because you do!!

Be unafraid to know you love.

Be unafraid to say it!

Be fearless to show your love,

Be ready to portray it.

Consider all which you can give,

Not just what you may get.

Consider all the ecstasy

We never need forget.

______© Nellieanna H. Hay

                                                         ~♥~

                                                  I want for you

                                            What you want for you,

                                             Whatever that may be.

                                                  ______© Nellieanna H. Hay

Mountain Peak

If you

Aspire to me

I’ll help you

Make it

To the top.

______© Nellieanna H. Hay

~♥~

When you come into

My door,

You fill my room

With misty moonlight,

And with magic music ~

~ Merry mystery ~.

You're such a man of marvels!

Thank you, Theresa. I understand. I'm particular (smile) about poetry, as well. I wrote much of mine to express what I felt in words that simply wrote themselves, and mostly for my own benefit, not even thinking ever to share.

I find too much "poetry' seems to written "to be writing poetry' and for me it seems to be contrived and often, trite. At least I know that mine was never a product of "I think I'll write a poem", but from being unable to keep from grabbing a pen and jotting it down. haha.

I confess that even some famous poetry leaves me rather lukewarm.

I've been glad to find a number of good poets and poems here in Hubpages. And I had the privilege of judging a poetry contest here, where the quality was a cut above, for the most part, - and which introduced me to good poets here I hadn't discovered on my own.

So I do appreciate your saying these were lovely! Hugs! :-)

Nellieanna - I am particular about poetry, much of it is not to my taste (perhaps what I prefer is poetic prose). This was a wonderful collection of, what shall I call them, perfect little vignettes. Lovely, lovely. Theresa

Methinks you know "how". One's ideas & feelings pour forth in words which are one's "paintbrushes" and they happen as they will. One isn't "trying" to 'BE A POET'. One is a being, being. (a line in one of my poems titled "Being Is A Noun and Verb".

      Prototype?

      Not I!

      I catalyze,

      I prophesy,

      I speak,

      I write,

      I laugh,

      I cry;

      And try

      To light another's fire,

      Excite,

      Suggest,

      Delight,

      Inquire,

      Inspire a flame

      With sparks of life,

      To salve the pain,

      To solve the strife.

      To be

      A being, -

      Being.

But if what pours forth happened to come forth intensely and existentially, that would be OK too. I love the beauty & simplicity - and authenticity of your work!!

      akraus 7 years ago

how do you do that? i just smile when i read those. so many people my age think that to be a poet you must be intense and existential. but the incredible wisdom in your joyful work proves them wrong. thanks :)

      You have captured

      My imagination

      Like a ray

      Of sunshine

      Captures playful

      Dust particles

      In the air

      And holds them there,

      Suspended in illumination

      For an

      Eternal Moment.

This touches me in such a wonderful way- delightful! I'm so glad you are sharing your gift of words :) Thank you!

Dream on - you're so dear to write such lovely things about my hubs. I was thinking how both you and Saddlerider write such meaningful things and pull no punches. Life if all this - some is really sublime vistas and some is really rugged, jagged edges. It's all part of what makes it whole - and makes us all whole as well.

      Thank you for being you.

You have been busy as a beaver in a tree.I see the wonderful hubs you post. You defintely have no idle time on your hands.Every time I read a little more of what you write I feel like I have wandered into a flower shop and wherever I look I see a new wonder.Something bright and beautiful. Each arrangement you took such great time and effort to make shows in every angle of the light.I am always pleased to read your lines and verses.Truth is I have to have the dictionary close by and I use it many times because you outmatch my vocabulary. So I have to inquire on different words that I am not familiar with. You bring me back to my school years where I am pushed to learn more.I am reminded to never stop learning and keep an open mind.It is so nice to read your hubs and of course all your comments and your comments on them.I am truely touched by your knowledge and your love to share with the world. So many people would say the world is a lonely place and left bare. You are living proof it is really a big jar of honey. I can't wait to enjoy the sweetness once more.Have just another amazing day.

Your poetry is so soothing to my soul. I always feel so clean all over as if I just frolicked in a meadow of lavender. Your verses just tantalize my spirit and sends it soaring up with doves. I am laying still and quiet as the gentle breezes caress my face and hair. Peacefully being rocked to gentle slumber with your verse. How sweet it is:0)

Hello, hello - Finding the "just right" graphics - whether they're my own original paintings or cyber-art or not) & adapting them to coordinate nicely with the artistic design & poetic theme of a page is part of a pleasing presentation. It's kind of the way my mind works, too. I'm a much more prolific poet than artist, also - so sometimes it's necessary to use other graphics. I need to do some painting! haha. Seems like Hubpages keeps me so busy!!

Thank you so much for your interest and attention to the detail!!

I noticed that the first one was signed by you and I could the heart in it. The other I could see your signature - not matter how I strained my eyes - and that made me ask. Yet the characteristics of the other painting looked like you. Your are wonderfully gifted. It must give you so much pleasure. Thank you for the pleasure you give me.

Thank you, hello, hello. My poetry does certainly come from my heart. I paint many/most of the pictures, though on this page only the top one is my original painting. I assembled some of the others, especially the 2 with poems on backgrounds, I coordinated the others with & to the artistic theme & poetic spirit of this hub. I sign & claim only my own original work, though. In most of my poetry hubs, all pictures are my original work. Thank you for asking.

Yes! Silent Reed, I can just see you doing that. This Cinderells prefers moonliit fields, too, though she'd probably slip on some soles if the fields were very rugged & do her dancing around there rather than back at the ballroom.

Now, we have these three things: faith, love and hope, but the greater of these three is love.

I went into a comfortable space, and read "Incandescent Tokens of Love", I came out and felt like a queen embalmed with the most precious oils and scents.

The aroma will stay with me for the rest of my life.

      Beautiful, Nellieanna, just beautiful.

Thank you, Nikki!! I'm gathering up some poems which express a little more of the "other" side of loving. It really does take both sides to be complete. Loving is not constant heady bliss. In fact, it's more often tough love/education! LOL. You may also relate to that other side. '=> Hugs, gf.

Tony! Thank you. That was an unfinished poem. I rarely really revise one I felt was finished at the time I wrote it. But that one wasn't finished or satsifactory at the time. It was just a wisp of a thought.

I added those lines and revised some of the first part when I posted it here on Hubpages and still worked with it, in fact.

I don't know if you saw the one I posted on an earlier hub which just said "If I am Cinderella, Banish all the clocks!" It was just as it was written way awhile ago. Then this one, sort of a sequel, has been trying to be written but even as I was posting it on this hub, I wasn't too happy with it till those lines came to me & felt "AHA".

So I truly appreciate your noticing them!! Thank you so much!!

My dear Mentalist - to be certain about the next minute is a form of self-delusion, but it's ok so long as we recognize it for what it is. Life's main feature is its uncertainty. Yet, as you say - we must be intelligently optimistic about it to want to continue. At the same time - we must be universally to both love it for what it is & be not only happy to do that - but willing to accept & embrace its uncertainty, without which we wouldn't be provided with delight - surprise - opportunity - challenge - motion & all the changing & dynamic (rather than if they were certain & static) wonders of the miracle we call LIFE. It's vital to understand it as it IS so that it can work with our beings which are more & not in battle with our wills, which are futile against the reality of LIFE.

Thanks for your wise & stirring comments! I always love to read you!!! Hugs.

jez_jay - Oh thank you - but do find time to make yours too! I'll be looking forward to them!!! I just checked your site and I'm still very eager to read your hub about DNA and stem cell therapy. This research and these advances are so full of both promise. At the same time, it raises difficult questions about aberrant human motivations down the road with those new means to fulfill them. Be nice to think that wouldn't come up & of course, we can remind ourselves that all vast strides in science, medicine & technology raise those cautions, as they should. If humans' character and moral health kept even a step ahead of these strides, there should be no problem. But when much evidence abounds that those better factors are even now lagging behind even what we now have upon us, it giives pause.

So we must look to young folks like yourself to keep clear level heads as well as good spirits & consciences, to have less greed & self-service, in order for the outcome to be progressive overall rather than ultimately self-annihilating both personally and species- wise.

I'm eager to read your hub in detail. I'm keenly interested in the subjects & I like you. Have had many distractions lately. No excuse - but it is the reason.

      Thanks again for visiting mine!
