Insidious ( a poem of retribution)

Updated on August 28, 2016

Those who seek to destroy, many methods in their repertoire to employ.

Insidious in all inent, the opposite of heaven sent, other's pain to enjoy.

It may be in the written word, actions of hate, foul words, all to languish,

Deliberate and unfounded acts, revealing a warped psyche, its anguish.

Those who seek to malign, hurt others, a sick mind, receive a just reward,

The tables are turned upon them, a future rought so grim, the untoward.

That which one sews shall most assuredly to reap, their own evil to keep.

This, while the ones they wrong, in all's respect belong, content, to sleep,

Heretics, love to delve in self-admiration, a narcissistic view, of eaches place,

Above all others in their minds, this, a chain that binds, themselves embrace.

Those to persist as "Holier than Thou", end up exposed so badly, somehow,

Yet, we hear them, as they insist, are right, all's wrong, in the here and now.

He who reads and finds, a connection to truth that binds, is an education,

All lessons learned in time, although not always to rhyme, a consternation.

Incessant in their most wrongful acts, often a penalty exacts, in retribution,

Now comes the judge of us all, ourselves, in every shortfall, of its execution.

One day those who harm others will face the rewards for their actions. For now, we can only move forward, forgiving them, but we must now retaliate. Great message.
