"In The Mirror" by Tanya Rena' Jefferson

In The Mirror

Source

As I look at myself in the mirror, what do I see?

A strong woman that has so much inside her and not afraid to be.

To be strong and tell you that I am not perfect all around.

To tell you when I am feeling up and when I am feeling down.

To tell you that I am wrong at times and not always right.

But I am a strong woman to take up for myself and put up a fight.

Put up a fight just in intelligent words to defend

Defend myself when someone's hurtful words penetrate in

Penetrates in my mind to condensed who I am and what I stand for

The hurtful words will be erased and I will try to ignore

Because I know the truth and what is inside my soul

I know what I need and I know my goal

So when I look in the mirror, what do I see?

A strong woman that has so much inside her and not afraid to be.

I am my number one fan and I love myself

Whether if I have a weave, wig, dark brown hair, blonde, or brunette

Short, tall, skinny, fat, or with a chunky silhouette

The way I look at myself is all that matters

If I want to change my appearance to make me feel better

Its all up to me and no one else to judge

I am who I am a strong woman made from the one above

A strong woman that has so much inside her and not afraid to be.

A strong unique woman who doesn't care what others think of me.
