Addiction to Internet

Updated on February 25, 2016

Web has spread,
And the spider itself is trapped, hunting its own kind,
The mankind!!!

The creativity in us, is slowly but lost,
We are turning to be, bunch of copycats.

The addiction is slowly making us,
Loose our grey cells.

We are evolving to be nocturnal,
Replacing the owl.

Far from reality we are trapped in illusions,
And have forgotten our true connections.

Our instinctive nature, is being misused,
To make profits.

Internet is a boon,
We are turning it to be our own doom.

We need to be cautious,
Lest it will choke us,

Web has spread,
And the spider itself is trapped, hunting its own kind,
The mankind!!!

Yes Eric, we are tuned to be that way.

      Boon becomes bane,

as a species we become insane.

Well done in both message and writing. Like most addictions we turn a good thing bad.

From world wide wait to real World Wide Web of 4G/5G we came a long way,but lost all our natural skills.Gone are the "paharas" and native sums and memory based strengths.Losing grey matter and becoming digital lazies.

This is Hi Tech not HiTouch world!

Thanks word55 for visiting. It is both a boon and a bane.

Crimes / early exposure are also increasing.

Cool hub - hari. The internet now, is more of a benefit than a nuisance. I must use it for real estate purposes, showcasing my music, sending messages and so forth. It's a worth while and powerful tool that 'll never go away. Thank you!

Thank you shyron. It is a menace.

Its true for me too. So I have tried to get involved in p2p than virual. Started having hobbies, writing, drawing, reading so that I can atleast reduce the addiction if not completely. Deliberation is needed.

      Thanks for you comment.

Hari, I like your message and the use of the spider to describe the World Wide Web. It is a concern, I know myself I am addicted (because I write mainly) and often have to force myself away from it.

Thanks harish for your comments. It sure is effecting people for both good and bad. But the latter one is a concern.

Trapped spiders ! Oh yes, my friend. But who stops us to venture outside and create a wonderful world out of a real world ? The message is clear : embrace the real people in the real world and savor real love. Thank you for this lovely poem.
