Paulette Harper Johnson is a wife, mother, grandmother, Bible teacher, radio host, and writer. She has been mentoring and teaching women for years though seminars, workshops and conferences. Paulette’s desire is to empower, influence and cultivate women to move forward while dealing with issues that hinder women.

As a writing coach, she is the visionary behind her own writing ministry called “Write Now,” a literary program that specializes in coaching aspiring writers in the areas of creativity, development, and publication of Christian books. As a member of PFL Publishing, a writing, editing and book marketing business, she serves as the marketing specialist.

Paulette Harper Johnson serves in ministry as an Elder with her husband Sr. Pastor Tony E. Johnson at Word of Faith Worship Center in Bradenton, Florida in America.

Would you like to introduce yourself to readers?

Hello Everyone! I am originally from Northern California by way of the San Francisco Bay Area. For the past year I’ve transplanted to sunny central Florida. My husband and I pastor Word of Faith Worship center in Bradenton and North Port Florida. I am the youngest of eight children, first published author and preacher. I am the mother of two adult daughters and two beautiful granddaughters. I am a radio host and owner of Write Now Literary (WNL) Virtual Book Tours.

What is your current or most recent project?

My current book is Completely Whole. The inspiration came from a nudge from God. I had gone through a bad ordeal, which left me broken and scared. In order for me to write about becoming whole, I had to experience it myself. There were areas in my own life that I needed to confront and deal with. Those areas that hindered me from moving forward needed to be addressed. Once God began to point out those areas and I accepted where I was spiritually, the healing and restoration began. The process of becoming Completely Whole is continual for any believer desiring to live, walk, and pursue a life on purpose. Completely Whole is one of those books that will challenge the reader to do a self-examination of where they are as it relates to their own spirituality.

What are you planning to write next?

Currently, I’m working on my first Christian fiction book. The first of two installments in the Trinity Lake series is called The Sanctuary. I’m extremely excited to be able to introduce to readers another side of my writing ability. My first two books as well as the two anthologies were non-fiction.

I’m also working on another non-fiction book for teens. This project will consist of teaching young girls how to handle life and deal with such issues as gossip, behavior, dress, and sex.

Are you a member of a writers group? Have you attended writing courses or seminars? Have these been helpful to you?

Yes. I am a member of several on-line writing groups including some on Facebook. I have also attended several writing courses that have helped me develop my craft. I believe anyone wanting to write a book should consider attending any one of a number of courses or seminars.

Have you other interests outside of writing? What do you do with your spare time?

Outside of writing, I am heavenly involved in ministry with my husband. We pastor two churches in the Florida area which demands much of my time. In my spare time (what little I have) I enjoy playing board games and cards.

What's the most useful 'how to' advice you've encountered?

The most useful “how to” advice came from a friend who shared with me on how to become an indie author. It was the greatest advice that has opened up great opportunities to help others walking that same journey.

Tell us a little about your book(s).

I have authored two non-fiction, inspirational books, one author's manual, and co-authored two books. My first book, That Was Then, This Is Now, This Broken Vessel Restored, was written from my personal journey while facing divorce. Within the pages of this book are my personal struggles with rejection, abandonment, and low self-esteem. I had no idea that God was going to have me write my first book that exposed my brokenness, vulnerability, and weakness; from that, I realized He was going to use my pain to help others.

My latest book, Completely Whole, is a resource-filled guide, full of practical and Biblically-based principles, real-life application strategies, and prayers to give the readers a holistic approach to living a life of wholeness through Jesus Christ. This book is inspiring, optimistic, hopeful, and encouraging, while providing a clear-cut, Scriptural blueprint for each reader to follow as they allow the Word and the power of God to transform their pain and restore their lives on their road to becoming Completely Whole.

Write Now Authors Manual was released this year. The idea around this manual is twofold: First, I want to help writers maneuver through the process of writing, promoting, and publishing their books as easily as possible. Secondly, I want this manual to be used as their guide to answer some of their questions as it pertains to the publishing industry. This manual is their handbook, author’s guide, writer's workbook, dictionary, how-to book, and instructional tool to help them become all that they desire in the area of writing. In this manual are keys to success; it is loaded with website links, terminology used in the industry, recommended books, marketing strategies, and promotional ideas that will help them bring their books to life.

What genre do you consider yourself?

The genre I consider myself is Christian non-fiction Inspiration.

How many books have you written, so far? Do you plan to write more?

Currently my library has three of my published books along with two non-fiction anthologies. I am working on two more books. My first Christian fiction book “The Sanctuary” will be out later this year. I’m also working on a young girl’s teen book “My Sista Girl, A guide to loving you, will be out early 2013. This year I released my first Write Now Author’s Manual which is a guide that I use to teach my seminars and workshops. Also available on Amazon.

Why do you write? Is it something you've always done, or always wanted to do? Or is it something that you started fairly recently?

I started my writing career in 2007 with a desire to help other women that were facing the same issues I was going through. Some people are born writers; others develop the craft after facing life transitions--and this was how my writing journey began. The purpose of me writing today is to inspire others to develop and tap into every gift that God has placed within them so they can become all that He has created them to be.
