Intrusion into Reality

Updated on August 5, 2011

Through the pounding in the head

The night before was bringing dread

The dreams from upon the pillow

Of man and woman and present fellow

Ghost of past, present and future

Into the head they pounce and torture

The pressure builds without release

On his knees begging please, please

Faces swarm unbidden through

The minds eye, without a clue

Some he knows as friends that last

Others faces from a tortured past

Condemning and yelling and shouting at him

Madness creeping began to begin

Hands on his head, shaking in fear

Eyes welling up, there drops a tear

Falling and falling the tear does drop

To the concrete, with a loud plop

It resonates through the room

Echoing with madness and doom

Breathing deeply and praying wildly

His heart slows down, the sounds go quietly

Back to the dark recesses of his mind

This battle was won, for this time.
