Is It Me Everytime

Updated on May 13, 2012

Fretting in some moony disgust

You flutter words so hurtful

Every blame is put on my crust

Mine is every crime

Is my value lesser than a dime

Is it me every time?

You count the thorns

When I bring you roses

Remember only the scorns

Forget all praises

Are all my words hurtful as slime

Is it me every time?

You say a no and I smile by

I say a no you go wry

I hurt you, I die in pain

You hurt me, I cry in vain

Are my tears bitter like brine

Is it me my love, who hurts every time?

Well, you've done it again, my friend. An absolute winner, but it flies because your passionate expression of unrequited love makes it so. One feels, SHARES your pain with you, and who of us can say at one time or another in our lives we've not gone through the same heartache you express here. Voted up, for your usual excellence. Thank you for putting many of our feelings into beautiful poems.

Hi Rahul, This was a great poem. Just like Fennelseed, I love that line "When I bring you roses, you count the thorns." Too many people in relationships are like that. You've hit on some really telling aspects of a relationship gone bad or that is very one sided with a very self absorbed partner. I enjoyed reading this. An expose on the relationship not to be in. Well done.

As your heart is bleeding my dear friend

Take comfort in poetry by vomiting your pain

It may help you to ease your brain

You will find rest in the tears of rain.

Normally it says that time is the best healer, but what you do with your time is what helps you to be healed by your pain. It's not easy, but not impossible with the family and friends who loves you. Just see, how many you have touched by your poems. Beautiful poetry :) God bless you!

Rahul, once again you managed to capture those strong emotions beautifully, some people love deeply but are unable to show it, some just don't know love, and cannot return it, either way it can be hell for the partner.

    • Suelynn profile image

Rahul, you express your emotions so beautifully in this poem and it is touching and poignant. Sounds to me as though your love interest is very needy and therefore very self-absorbed. It's not you, it's her. Sometimes it is wise to move on, in which case it would be a growth experience for both of you. Your poem reminds me of the beautiful short story written by Oscar Wilde called "The Nightingale and the Rose." Comforting Hugs to you, Rahul. Voted beautiful and Up. :)

Rahul voted up and awesome. This is wonderfully expressive. So sad that at times love is more real on one side and not the other. People can easily hurt each other without even realizing they're being cruel. Always best if one can just walk away and find a new love.

Oh my! A few short lines to convey the pain of unrequited love. I think it unrequited, for there's only one who grieves, yet loves relentlessly, hopefully.

How can someone's pain be a thing of beauty when expressed simply?

      Truly beautiful!

Rahul, Fennelseed hit the nail on the head. When experiences result in the words you've put on paper, you need to recognize the union is not correct. From what I've seen of your heart and soul, let her go. She will never see your beauty because she doesn't see her own. Don't let her, or anyone else, bring you down just because they can't give. Criticism and negativity are not what partners in love are supposed to share. Yours will come, my friend. Be strong and never stop being you!

    • Fennelseed profile image

Rahul, this is a haunting account of one sided love. One who loves with everything and one who doesn't know how to love, not even themselves. You have created strong images to demonstrate this in your poem. I just love:

"You count the thorns, When I bring you roses"

You have captured the hurt of one who gives everything and receives only torment in return. Brilliant, powerful and compelling writing. My votes and best wishes to you and sharing!!!
