Poem: Is this the Future? video...

Updated on January 19, 2012

Is this the Future?

When I was a kid

I always wanted

to be where all

the action was.

Since this was also

the nature of the people

who lived on that

Island where I was born

and it seems as if

grown ups were

having the most fun

I could not wait

to grow up

My growing up did

pay off in the way

because I never stop

looking at things in life

as things that was

simply miraculous

spectacular and magical

I saw humongous boats

floating one the water

I would then throw

a pebble into the water

In seconds it went under

I had many questions

for my dear father

More than he could

ever dreamed to answered

I saw some monstrous

very heavy aeroplanes

that's how they call them

Floating in the skies,

I then threw a feather

high up into the air

here it comes spinning

heading to the ground

Like dying flies.

The list goes on and on

of quite amazing things

I would never want my

life to end because

There were too many

Fascinating things

this kid had yet see

and also comprehend.

I saw things that would

keep me occupied for decades

I could never be bored.

I should not speak quickly

about things in this life

That's out of my parents control.

I was in for the greatest

Surprise of my life.

But I was not dreaming

My fascinations were

basically all very real

But the dream was

that it all cost $$money$$

And more money$$$

And even more money.$$

Finally you got the money

Went for the experience

You love it and wish

To do it all over again,

But the money$$

was not being made

for you and your parents

were not in that primary

group of investors,

The lao told me the names.

Your mind starts to race

And who don’t know it’s

A disease to give “Chase,”

Cause you will be

chasing It, all your life.

Depends on the type

of person that you are

While doing your thinking,

everything seems

to be so far fetched

You must now start

to weigh your chances.

But while doing this

all of life is still going on

and also at a price

that's costing you the most,

You now have to watch

even time used for thinking

because before you

know it, you will be

Compromising your own self,

you may have friends,

but because they are

not seeing things

the same way that you do,

If you want to stick around

be a sociable guy

You will have to

convince them also,

Oh! You have to either wait

A lot longer, till when you are a man

Or run the risk of getting thrown out

By your family if your choice can’t

Be convincingly explained to them.

Looking at the road ahead

I suddenly started asking myself?

Is this the Future?

poetvix , you are simply a very special writer, I love even more so your comments , not because in this case you are commenting about me , but because I can detect truth from any distance, because it cannot change.

Follow your truth to the only place truth goes to your destiny. If money is involved to lead you to that greater you, it shall be well!

Writers may not write the same things ,but they compliment other writers thoughts. But no man is an island.

You are a good human Being.

Sky ~ Sometimes I think you are in my head. I have been thinking about money on and off for some time and frankly, I need to let go of the thoughts. The happiest times of my life had nothing to do with it and were free. You always hit home and I thank you for it! God bless you my friend.

thank you my dear lady, mljdgulley.

For being first as great as you are, and also one that proves to be cleverly aware, of this world around us. This I truthfully admire this. Truthful writing! Respect!

The first story I read from you put you permanent in my memories, I saw and felt what I needed to from a fellow human being.

Thanks for reading and your comments which I look forward to reading. What one looks for from others can sometimes be a puzzling things , it is just what it is.

Once I am able to get in the memory that's good.

      Give thanks .
