It Is Not The Same

Updated on April 1, 2011

I took the winding road to the old place

It is not the same

I stopped to smell the same daisies on my way to the old place they smell the same

It is not the same

The scenery on the winding road look the same

It is not the same

As I topped the Hill on the winding old road the lookout over the tree tops look the same

It is not the same

The country air still smell like the spring that I remember

It is not the same

The tree shadows on the winding road that we walked beneath looked the same

It is not the same

I through a pebel or two into the old pond I thought it skipped the same

It is not the same

I seen the sights of pass sights we looked for together they look the same I thought the old barn leaned the same

It is not the same

I  was checking my rear view mirror just to see did the sights look the same

And realized I was going backwards

Of course it is not the same

It is all remembrance and can not be relived

because it is not the same.

But one thing I know for sure I can love the same

I am often thrown back into time by a sound or a smell. I desperately try to feel my childhood yesterdays, but it is not there. No, it is not the same.

Wonderful. No pictures or souvenirs can touch what is in our minds as memories. Life keeps moving forward and what we remember from yesterday is never the same as it is today. Our hearts just grow stronger and larger with all we know. Great thoughts.

    I wanted to go back

    but you can't go back...

    because it's gone

    time re-arranges

    an old familiar face

    or place changes

    and moves on...

    it moves on!

    lovely bittersweet hub~~~MFB III
