It doesn't change a thing... 2012

Updated on April 1, 2016
Source

I thust it away,

this sadness, this seeping

fear that haunts my days

still, it continues creeping

Insidious, aching, ever present

It dims the joy

in all thoughts pleasant

no matter the defences I employ

I know from whence

the melancholy springs

I know... but that is no defense

For knowing doesn't change a thing

Hi Lillianna, have you thought about putting a poetry book together, I'm sure it would be a success judging from this poem.

Great poetry! Nice imagery flashes in your words... great personification too!

It always pops up unexpectedly, I'll be going along with my day, and suddenly the simplest things will bring it to the surface...

Hi, sad yet beautifully written. I loved the line 'the melancholy springs'.

You obviously have a gift for poetry. Keep writing them!
