It grows colder and colder

Updated on December 23, 2013

Lost for words
there is no reason
to look your way.
Forgiveness I've done
I keep growing stronger
why follow the debate
of death
when life awaits me
in the end.

They say your innocent
its the human condition
I can forgive
I just know the temperature
just grows colder and colder.

There is no reason to be around
when there is only a faithless heart
hopeless in the soul
you choose death over and over.

Dismissed for the last time
the ice grows colder and colder
the only path I can choose
is life in the end.

Never to be messed with
I've learned to defend
protect myself
through the blizzards
that you blow over
when ever it becomes colder.

Pushed around enough times
you learn to be a fighter
a soul survivor
never allowing anyone
to get in your head again.

Dancing on the ice
maneuvering through your obstacles
I've learned to be braver
a courageous heart
I know I have God's favor.

Mindfulness was the answer
you gave all the wrong answers
to life in the end.
Learned to become focused
navigate my way
through every obstacle
thrown my way.

I will succeed without your
advice or help in the end.
Angels have always
guided my footsteps along
the way.
It's not over until I
meet God in the end.

The vices in our society makes hearts colder and colder, but God and His angels spread their warmth and energy. Thank you for sharing this message through your poetry. A blessed, happy Christmas to you and yours, Hattie Mae!
