It's Freezing Cold

Updated on March 4, 2017

Winter Is Not Ready To Leave

Busy day at work

Just happy to be heading home

I don't like stepping out in line of fire

The wind sends shock waves through my body

One chill at a time

Pulling into my driveway

I hustle inside

I am glad to be here

Where I can dive into my world of thinking

So many people insist on being bored

They say over and over

There is nothing to do

I think they lack the initiative and drive

I really don't get it

It boggles my mind

How is it possible ?

What are they thinking ?

I rush home just so I can jump into a hot shower

Once I am there

I am in a mystical place

My body is teased and pleased

I have to trick myself

It's the only way I will leave the warm streams of water

I love so much

Turning the water colder

I am forced to step out

Throwing on my pajamas and now I roll into bed

Propping my head against a few pillows

This is where I want to be

I tuck my quilt under my chin

Then dose off to such a relaxed state

My mind thinking a few happy thoughts

As I hear the wind whip against the house

My eyes close automatically and off to sleep my body goes

After an hour or two

I crawl to the corner of my bed and reach for my phone

Scroll down look for messages and check my e-mails

A voice in my head

Says put down the phone

I haven't eaten supper and it's quarter to ten

My body is craving food

I have to eat

As I look in the refridgerator to satisfy my needs

I grab the milk and set it on the counter

Reaching for my old stand by

I pour a bowl of blueberry frosted bite size mini wheat cereal

Now I begin to eat my comfort food

At the same time I pick up the I pad and start to flip my words over and over in my head

Like a farmer turning over his soil

Not ready for planting

Ahead of schedule at a preparation stage

Now I turn to different writers to see what's on their mind

My wife texts me

She is having a bad day at work

I send her words of encouragement

Hang in there honey

Sometimes we have to work through some rough spots

She texts back

She only has a few more hours left

Not every day is a picnic

It does help us get where we want to be

Other times we get there without any effort at all

As I put my bathrobe on and turn a small portable heater in my direction

For some added warmth

I feel a burn on my arm

I must of got it in work

I didn't even notice

I know most of today will turn into a blurr in a few hours

For now it is still a reaccuring thought

I look at my cat Charlotte

Who has assumed her position

Legs curled and her head tucked on top of her paws

So relaxed

Now titled back

As if to say I see you

Enjoying the comforts of home

Both of us know

We have it made

Moments like this

Remind me of the things that bring me joy

Other people struggle and complain

As I look and find a little touch of happiness

They failed to see

I will never be bored

ChangingTides2331 The weather keeps changing just like the tide. How perfect and fitting to have a name ChangingTides. If we could sum up our day in words I think it would be constant movement and always different. Life is a new awakening every day. Thank you for your friendship and encouragement. Have a great day.

The sun shines warm and bright during the day and at night outside turns cold. Resting inside my cozy and comfortable home makes me appreciate all kinds of weather. Thank you for your lovely comments. May your night turn out right.

Just on time. As the winter season continues, so does it's grip of returning cold. After mid upper fifties, the wind is blowing furiously factor bellow twenty discomforting every fantasy dream of spring. Comforting thoughts of warm inside the home. What an unimaginable blessing having home and family and understanding hearts surrounding , uplifting hope and joy and filling with peace of certainty: all is well with my soul...

      Have a blessed day.

I was so hoping for an early spring instead I got a pile of snow. My Sid must be seeking inspiration for the animal blog I have for him. He has lately taken up a sleeping position beside me while I work on the PC. I believe he isn't really sleeping but keeping an eye out for inspiration from the PC. Hope your week is great.
