It's Rainy and Raw Outside

Updated on December 5, 2013

It's An Experience

It is so easy to stay inside

Keep the weather at a distance

Waiting for the rain to stop and the sun to return

Then again why not have some fun

Get a coat and some gloves

Come see the rain

The coolness on your face

The ground soft under my feet I began to sink

Walking with sneakers I felt the wetness on my toes

It wasn't long before the rain came down harder

Zippering up after a chill gave me a thrill

Smell the fresh air

Even though the grass and the bushes are brown

It is always nice to see nature face to face

The day is gloomy and damp

Tonight the temperature will change

Seeing a warm trend just before the cold again

I am relieved

This is December and no sign of snow

So happy when I don't have to pull out the winter shovel

To clear a path and the stairs

Just to walk from here to there

I like the fact that I could get paid for being right 98% of the time. I do love snow. At least a little at a time. The field must be pretty competitive because most people don't want to think.Enjoy your day.

kj force You couldn't be more right. Today it snowed about two inches. I hope tomorrow it will melt. Thank you so much for sharing. What is your weather like right now ? I will take a guess. Sunny and warm. The day before that. Beautiful. The day before that one. Nice and endless sunshine. How close am I ? I want to see if I have what it takes to be a weatherman in Florida.

This is a fun poem which really does show that any weather can be fun. It reminds me of how a lot of kids just love to play out in the rain.

I really enjoy reading this. It helps to enjoy the rain as much as one does the sunny days. Really cool. Up +++ and shared.

Thank you for bringing attention to how we can enjoy the rain just as much! :-)

annart I wanted to show no matter what the weather is like we can enjoy it. Just like our life. We just have to pick and choose the good parts and leave the rest alone. It means a lot to read your comments. I also love the give and take a writer receives after writing something. He can review his work and make changes or just think about changes and be happy what he has made. Learning to write better on his next poem and use each work as a stepping stone. Thank you so much for reading and adding your insight and thoughts. Another day of rain. Another day of excitement.

Another great poem! I love interacting with the elements, splashing in the puddles and feeling snowflakes on my face. On the other hand I do like to be warm, by the fire with a good book.

A little of both is best I think! This made me smile, so thank you. Ann
