It's Something About Your Eyes

Updated on August 5, 2012

Every part of my brain screams

To finally tell you "No"

To pull my hand away from you

To turn away and go

For a moment I can do it

I'm ready to be brave

To take a breath,

hold my ground

But then I meet your gaze

I see your eyes begging

Pleading I'll give in

And in an instant I fall apart

And once again you win

I know that its a lie

The sorrow that your claim

I know that I'm a fool,

A pawn in your favorite game

I know you haven't changed

Nor did you the time before

It wasn't a "one time thing"

I know it will happen more

Yet when I meet those eyes

I want to believe they're true

I want to believe you mean it,

That I'm the world to you

Tomorrow I'll be happy

In a few days I'll forget it

But deep down I know,

not long from now

One day I'll regret it.

Awesome Poem!!! This is a poem that I think many will be able to relate to in some point in their life. Often times, we know it is time to move on yet still fall into that same trap!! Excellent Job!!

I felt it's coming straight from the heart (again) and that's what we do when there's something in our mind and in our heart--let it out, write it down, share it and hopefully readers learn a thing or two. Nice hub!
