It's Time To Walk The Walk

Updated on August 21, 2016

So Easy To Talk The Talk

Exercise is so important

We still find a way

To put it off for another day

I know there are no good excuses

We all make them up

They make us feel better

Here are some of my favorites

I want to exercise but not right now

I joined a gym

Now going is a different story

I'm tired

I worked last night

There are so many things to do

I will squeeze it in later

Later comes and goes before you know it

I was going with a friend

My friend called and said sorry but I can't go today

That's all I needed to hear

O.k. we both can go tomorrow

I am so comfortable

I am lazy

The list is endless

Put down the remote

Don't look back

Well I decided to go for a walk

It doesn't have to be the Olympic try outs

Doing something is better than nothing

It may lead to bigger and better work outs

Who knows?

Five days in

I feel better

I don't care how much more I can do

How much I have put it off in the past

We have all heard

Slow and steady wins the race

Walking today helps me get fit

I am on my way

Maybe I will see you walking

Have a good walk just in case I miss you

If it's hot

You can walk around in any store

Find a grocery store you like

Hannafords, Stop and Shop, Shaws are cool and big

I like Market Basket

I am constantly looking at all the food I never eat

If there is a Walmart or Target near you

Shop with your eyes and pretend you have one thousand dollars to spend

Make out a wish list before hand

To give you a few suggestions

Then when you go to the store look for those items

Maybe this or maybe that

Deam a little

Dream a lot

The clincher is you only have fifty minutes

You have to write down the name and the price of the item you picked

You can't add them up

You have to be within $52.50

You can't go over

That's the price you pay

Racing up and down the isles

Another catch there has to be something different from all departments of the store

Randomly pull out a section of the store

Throw a few repeats that you have to ignore

I use flash cards

In the other pocket you have numbers one to ten

A different number is pulled every time

For how many items you have to buy in that department

Spend, Spend Spend

You can go back to an earlier department if you have to

Off to shop

Eyes only

No repeat items

A way to pass time and have fun

Do it with a friend

The first half hour goes fast

When your done

You created a crazy world

Walking your way to better health

Gypsy Rose Lee Doctors have said for years walking is the best exercise. Weights and everything else just make it better. I am happy that walking helped. I went walking earlier. I talk and walk and before you know it two hours have passed and I didn't even notice. Thanks so much for reading and sharing.

Just discovered that walking is great help for my sciatica nerve attacks. After all the rain we recently had my sciatica was really stabbing me. Then I took to walking and it really helped a great deal.

Peachpurple . I have fun and roll my daily life and dreams into my poems. My wife and I started walking for an hour or longer every day. We joined a gym two years ago and haven't gone much. Trying to find our way back. Life gets busy but putting off good health is not an option. I am glad you liked my poem. Wishing you a great day. Please take a few minutes and take a walk. I would love to hear your story? Please be careful. You don't have to walk fast or far. Be your own judge. Do only what you feel comfortable with. Drink lots of water. Most of all have fun.
