A crowing dawn!
With much reluctance do I get up;
I perch myself near the window,
With a cup of steaming coffee,
For the usual visual treat!
All the leaves of the tree,
Close to the compound wall,
Shrug off laziness and exchange greetings!
The birds instantly respond to the rustles of the leaves
By cawing up the still-dozing humanity!
What are they all up to, I wonder!
Daily chores engage me;
Office beckons my sleeping husband;
Does their mission end in waking us up
Or does mankind miss the awakening aspect?!
