It’s Calling (poem)

Updated on February 2, 2015

It’s calling ever calling from afar

A scent of something which was left behind

The answer to a long forgotten scar

A shadow which still lingers in his mind

It’s calling o’er the sands of yesterday

It’s calling from the passages of night

It’s calling from the things which couldn’t stay

Recalling memories of mixed delight

The days of broken dreams and bitter rain

The bitter winters and the rose’s thorns

And moments tossed which no one would explain

Forestalling tender dew drops caused by scorns

It’s calling I’m recalling as I go

The reasons that I still do love her so

For many years this could have been my poem. But now I turn deaf ears to that calling ...I hope.

Sending you many Angels this evening, Martin.

Have a lovely lovely weekend :) ps

I seem determined to reopen the wound I have, caused by a love that couldn't be. Why do we revisit, countless times? This was especially beautiful.

      Nice work, Mh!

Always wondering what could have been?

It becomes a part of our energy and adds to who we truly are.
