Jackie Evancho - All Grown Up!
This article is about a personal matter that brought me to HubPages and the discovery of a little girl who would shock the world with a voice she merely used for fun!
This is an account of how one lead to the other but most importantly the unbelievable beauty and talent of Jackie Evancho!
From a game to fame.
The golden moments in the stream of life rush past us and we see nothing but sand; the angels come to visit us, and we only know them when they are gone.— George Elliot
A star is born.
In the beginning at - Among friends.
When I first came to online writing I had been years away from music a good while. I had never written poetry. So to survive the torture my mother was going through that I could not stop (and that did in fact kill her 2010) I started putting my feelings in poems; from suggestion of a couple of good friends here. (James Watkins and Nell Rose)
I found songs to top them off or sometimes I would hear a song that made me have to write what that song said to me.
Well, I did poetry to vent anger, to let my mom and God and anyone who wanted to listen know what I was going through and it got me through. Good therapy for sure.
I have to admit just talking about it brings back the pain, the love, the misery and then the release of my mother’s spirit to let her go so I could finally know her pain was over.
I wrote of her caretakers who I knew starved and hurt her. I would show up unexpectedly and find this to be true but I could prove nothing, even with pictures.
I wrote of her daffodils so plain but now through her eyes I saw the beauty and love and my plans to take them to her and see if she would know me. (I found Carol King's "My Mother's Daffodil's" and it was heaven sent.)
She called everyone by my name but me, yet when she saw me I saw the love and recognition.
I did poetry and songs of my love for her and when she died I had no choice but to finish her story that way. Amazingly it was as if angels guided me to songs; such as for the daffodils.
Who would have guessed but there it was and a tribute as I alone could have never given her.
When she died though I knew there was no song to express my feelings and I really hated that, being the ending of her life and story and my sorrow.
To my surprise and I don’t know why with all falling into place each and every time, I came up on Sarah McLachlan’s, “ In the Arms of the Angel”
I finished the end of her life in written form with the accompaniment of that most beautiful song.
I have seen Sarah perform that song a couple of times on TV in the last year and it always says what I couldn’t although there are words there not pertaining to my mom, on the whole it says it all.
It is to me a testimonial against all who did her wrong including her own children and begged her to go where there would be no more pain and/or abuse.
Had you heard of her before this writing?
Such a thrill to watch her perform.
Jackie not only has perfect pitch, she is able to create such emotions within the listener that she often brings her audience to tears.
She can sing in many different languages with such perfection that native speakers of those languages are simply amazed at her diction. She has the most appealing personality, largely due to her very humble nature.
She seems at home with the everyday fan, as well as with the President of the United States (singing at the National Christmas tree lighting last year) and talk show hosts in the United States, England, Canada, and Japan.
She has appeared nationally and internationally, and is now set to be in a major motion picture. She is a great lover of animals and is the Nation spokesperson for the SPCA.
I think the safest thing to say is that she embodies all we hope for in our young people. She is the whole package.
All God's angels come to us disguised.— James Russell Lowell
Beautiful Voice and Person
Today I found a beautiful child; eleven years old, that can give Sarah a real run for her money on that song and I just had to share it.
Maybe many of you saw her on ‘America’s Got Talent’ but I did not. I had never heard of her until today and it has been about years ago that she was on that show and now I see that she has so very many videos out and I am sure is a very rich little girl by now.
On one show about her, they said she just did this opera singing around the house and her parents thought that all eight year old's sounded like that.
That may be true but the thing is she sounds like a grown up, she does not have the voice of a child and someone on the show says that it is nothing special about her voice box but merely from her brain, and it showed brains of other great talents so apparently the little girl has gone through very much to see what makes her tick.
I thought I would just leave you a video to amaze you if you have never heard her. Since I could not really give you her whole story you had to listen about mine to get to her.
Thanks for letting me share it with you and this fantastic talent. Please enjoy.
I have 2014 Video of her at bottom; doing POP! You will love it. Every little girl's dream.
Be an angel to someone else whenever you can, as a way of thanking God for the help your angel has given you.— ~Quoted in The Angels' Little Instruction Book by Eileen Elias Freeman, 1994

Most recently, Jackie has tried her hand at both acting and modeling. She made her acting debut in “The Company You Keep.” Legendary actor/director/producer Robert Redford cast Jackie to play his daughter in the thriller scheduled to be released April 2013. “I am so happy that Mr. Redford picked me to be in his film. And I am excited to learn from performers that are amazing at what they do,” says Jackie, who will be part of a star-studded cast that includes Susan Sarandon, Shia LaBeouf, Anna Kendrick, Terrance Howard, Nick Nolte and Stanley Tucci.
Off screen, Jackie was selected by GUESS owner, Paul Marciano, to star in both the Fall 2012 and Fall 2013 GUESS Kids clothing campaigns. “I have had so much fun and done so many challenging things this year. But while I really enjoyed all the traveling and the acting and had such a great time posing in all those great clothes for GUESS, singing is still the thing I love the most,” said Jackie.
