Jagged Edges - Barnsey's Attempts at Poetry

Updated on February 28, 2012

Jagged Edges

All jagged edges, hard, without a grin,

A long time lost

Never quite knew where to begin,

A glare profound, to warn away the cruel,

Your nearness draws a fearsome din.

How can I continue? With this shouting in my soul.

How can I continue? Only you can make me whole.

Let me fade from this caption, this world, this life,

I have no good words, my tongue a serrated knife.

Though my heart spilleth over I favor now the end,

I close my eyes, burned with the image, of you my closest friend.

See me not as angry and full of dissent,

But as a tidal wave of fury that did finally relent.

I tried to accept the world but it was never fond of me,

Enough of the battles I cannot win, finally...I am free.
