Being Famous Ain't What it Seems

Maybe when we heard them we knew somehow that they weren't going to be here too long and we ought to get all of them while we could. And they knew it too; giving all they had for the short time they were allotted. Going all out, running break neck for the horizon, not knowing that they were heading for the precipice of famous self destruction. They allowed us to visit ourselves while listening to them while they, clutching onto the whirlwind of an opened soul cast about for the answers that we expected them to have. Drugs are a key, drugs are a crutch, and drugs can kill you if you use them too much.

They had become immortal, but they had ceased to live. Far better I'm sure then the clerk or drone that merely existed for 70 or so mediocre years, but was it? Those who waste away their meaningless lives, do so out of fear and pain and wishing they had the strength to achieve some merit in this world. Always waiting for life to happen they sit idly by as time goes on. And yet some know! They rise more quickly then any rocket!  Go higher and faster then the rest and leave all those who have taken easier ways out looking heavenward and moaning their loss.
