Jean Valjean's Plea: Revisited

Updated on December 22, 2012

Needing for heroes...

We pine at home...

why must we pine...

when we have so many...

scattered around...

doing who knows what...

who knows where...

I honor what they do...

but why not do and be done...

then come home to us...

So the world dissolves to war...

another global conflict might rage...

we took care of business here and now...

we could again engage...

without a problem...

if we at home where one within.

If the bases all shut down...

Every one here where they belong...

we could bring our differences to an end

having the measure of heroes within...

bring an end to all the strife...

having to face our soldiers in the eye...

before we order change and woe...

Problematic is their woe...

should they ever return...

what they've seen...

what they know...

they cannot say...

nor rightly under stand...

shadows haunt them ever more...

As it is we don't know their names...

tell them where to go...

after time we forget they are their...

except those home who listen and wait...

never receiving the truth about them...

black lines to describe their fate.

Whats wrong with not acting abroad...

till congress can all agree on war...

Presidents should not be allowed to order death...

without the general consent of us...

Who will shout bring them home?

Leave the world to their own devices...

get us out...

Those who are intolerant of us...

don't hate our people, only policy...

wish nothing but to be left alone...

to get in trouble or rule as they see fit...

What gives us the right to disallow...

when we would throw a fit...

were we so constrained...

The thought of UN domain gives us shivers...

hypocrites if we cannot carry the refrain...

"Bring them home!"

crying at times to consider...

what they do and see so we do not....

not shirking duty for anything...

every now and then one buys a plot...

Yet even then...

what is wrong with us...

to ask them to go...

not understanding what we ask...

then discarding them when they return...

not having a place..

where they can live...

and rightly contributing...

regardless of what shape they're in...

Sol I ask...

Why there not here...

we need the men...

with such character at home...

to show our nation what sacrifice is...

To force this nation to its knees...

to force the arguments to close...

then maybe start to begin again...

a little wiser then before...

Don't get me wrong...

were I allowed, I would go...

a simple decision to go and try...

life has dealt me a different fate...

I must sit here and write...

lol I actually feel we have heroes out there but their masters who cause them to make war are less heroic.

Sometimes God commands men to go to war, but I don't believe that has been the case for a very long time.

I wish that war were not glamorized and extolled as the maker of heroes to school children's minds. They should be taught the truth.

      So should we all.

hmm, then what do you suggest be done to men that they desire not the power that causes them to strive and make War?

NO...I'm saying Women don't start the wars...we are the "caregivers"...we nurture...we talk things over...we look for ways to stay Peaceful. Men are the ones that start the wars...and then we cry for them, and die for them as well.

I never imagined it was less then Hell. My words had more to do with the only rational end of war that I will ever tolerate listening to. Somewhere in the desperate and still soft part of my soul, this is the cry that I usually don't dwell on in order to keep from getting very angry. Anger doesn't help my health any. Besides, are you saying that you would like to start a war instead?

War is HELL...it is also "Big Business" for the Manufacturing Field. It gives the men and women of our country a choice..they can enlist...have a job, get an education, see the world...But it is sad for families who lose loved ones, who die in a country that we know nothing about...and sometimes the CAUSE is so wrong on our part... However, women don't start wars...Men do...that needs to change!
