Just Clearing My Throat, a Poem

Updated on June 26, 2013

Clearing My Throat, a Poem

Battersea,

Bonobos,

chimp,

Angel,

angle,

proffered,

Terrace,

Tunisia,

Tulip, (red and white),

Reverence,

Renoir,

Reformation,

Claudius,

coracle,

Caligula,

Demeter,

depth,

despair,

Euclid,

earth,

enmity,

Music,

Mozart,

meters,

Valhalla,

verity,

vicious,

snow,

snowflake,

sorrow,

table, my table,

where all things are formed,

the windward side,

of abyss,

table,

taut,

taught,

table,

Claudius,

latin,

dreary nights

spent

in learning...

the rubble of pages and pain

occur in delicious waves...

lay down the time

for another

to take up learning,

while they are

clearing

their throat.

This one is very different. The more I read on the more the rhythm kicked in. Loved it.

I really like that "windward side of abyss" line.
