Karmic Revenge

Updated on June 20, 2012

Every now and then

vengeful thoughts may cross my mind,

allowing me to feel

a sweet release.

Lost in a dream

I see a way out

of a sea of torment,

no longer do I need

to remember.

As I wonder

of your soul,

I feel a freedom

you will never know.

Though I've been beaten

I lift my head high

always aware

that the merry goes around

over and over

the past repeats.

Looking over your shouldar

always a glance behind

to see what comes.

Forever to worry

of what I will do

or where I will be,

if I will take a stand

make a statement

do something in return,

worry and shame your constant companions.

In your world,

a broken clock sits in the corner

forgotten under a layer of dust

a calendar remains stuck on that date,

imprisoned as you wait and watch.

Years go by

but I know my turn will come.

Thanks Derdriu. I took that picture of artwork painted on the wall of a church building. I don't remember the exact message of the quote. I just liked the picture.

TruthForNow, Wow! And the original art work is equally great. But the computer is a bit jittery today, and the print isn't clear. What is the message just above the mountains and to the right of the girl?

      Up + UABI.

Respectfully, and with many thanks for sharing, Derdriu

Oh how those forgotten memories surface and cause us to cringe! Great poetry and very well done.

I just love this. It makes me smile as I remember some events in life. Very nice free verse poetry. Deep and beautiful.
