Kicking Back And Ready To Relax

Updated on August 4, 2011

Throwing The Things To Do List Out The Window

I don't know honey where the list is now

I know I had it last but it is not here

Do you remember it ?

There were lots of things to get done

If they are important enough they will come back to you

We can pick up where we left off today tomorrow

I look out our living room window

I see this white piece of paper blowing in the wind

Go paper go

I say with great enthusiasm

In such a soft voice not even my cats could hear

What was that honey ?

Did you say something ?

No a softer voice than that

Almost a whisper and unable for my wife to hear

No honey it must have been the wind hitting the windows

Sometimes you have to tell a small white lie and stretch the truth a little bit

In the name of health and sanity

I didn't say I didn't see it

I didn't say I knew where it was now

Since it could be anywhere the wind takes it

I just said it wasn't here now and she could make another list

I have to use fast diversionary tactics

Honey do you feel like going to the movies

She replies almost instantly with sure

We have to go now if we want to catch the movie you want to see

Add in a little urgency and make sure she picks out the movie to watch

You feel a little less guilty

Off to the movies we go without a second to waste

We caught the movie Crazy Stupid Love

A very enjoyable time

The movie was interesting even though it started off rocky

I think they could have made it better but I loved the twists that made it special

I will tell you more about the movie later after you see it

Not to spoil your fun

So if your like me and have a Honey things to do list

Conviently see if the wind takes your list and makes it disappear

Then you can offer to go to the show

Remember you didn't hear it from me

But I am sure at least for today you can take a load off your feet and the troubles off your mind

Dim Flaxenwick I know I could of rented one and stayed at home but sometimes it is the fun of going out to the movies and bring back the pleasures when I was younger when movies were not as easy to see as click and watch. It rekindles a little romance of going on a special date.Eiddwen I didn't think my wife would make a 3 page Honey to do list the next day.(wow) Was I surprised. It was still worth it.Thanx for both your wonderful comments that help make my life funnier and more special.

This made me smile. Good for you for taking your wife to see a film.

      ´TO DO´ lists can wait.

Fun hub! Love the honey-dew (honey-do) list. I just spent several days in a hammock reading 1 book after annother -- so I am NOT passing judgment!

Yes, we all deserve a little 'me' time and quality time together.

Our 'to do' lists should be banned!

      Love it and voted up!

Everyone needs a day off from chores. Weekends and evenings (for those with daily jobs) should not all be given up for continuing work at home.

Even people (such as I) who are retired need a "me day" sometimes...an escape from responsibilities. Sometimes it's the weather that prompts a "me day." Then I want to spend much of my time reading.
