"Kicking Rocks and Skimming Stones" by Eric Wayne Flynn
"Kicking Rocks and Skimming Stones"
Down by the lake on a walk all alone
Down by the lake kicking rocks and skimming stones
I see people at play
Out in the middle of the blue, I see you
Your'e playing too
Everyones got a beer and the music is loud
Pop poison polluting my brain waves
The sun is shining
Possibility is all you can see on a clear day
Time is on your side and so is life
It is grand and who would take that away
But believe me it goes
Jumping out of the boat and down to the deep
Underneath the party lies a demon at sleep
Waiting to devour you
It's already took a chunk outta me
But I'm a warrior, are you?
What happens when reality smacks the shit of you?
Leaving you out cold on a boat in the lake
Life is a game, a game of chance, it's a chance I take
By the throat and tell it like it is, was and will be
Im the dirtiest poet alive, I'm filthy
Step up to the plate
Leftovers out to lunch
Going to brunch and buying the new Galaxy
The one that's got a huge screen with megapixels
It makes all our shitty lives look glamorous
Im ready for my close up where the camera is?
Back on shore taking a picture of you
A Polaroid that proves I'm out of touch
Your'e out of view
I see my friend the one i thought i
That the monster sleeps in the lake
Soon enough it awakes
Gobbling up all the pretty things
Isn't it beautiful...
