Magazine Subscription Gift

If you are searching for great gift ideas for that special child in your life consider a purchasing kids magazine subscriptions.

What kid doesn't like to be treated as somebody special? Is there a child that does not like seeing his or her own name on things?

What about the excitement of receiving things addressed to them in the mail on a recurring basis? You can make all these things happen if you purchase kids magazine subscriptions tailored to their specific interests.

Baby Magazine Subscriptions

One can never start early enough to instill a love of reading in children. At first the parents or older siblings or other interested parties will spend time in reading these magazines to babies.

A 2017 parent's choice gold award winning magazine for ages 6 months up to 3 years of age is called babybug. It has non-toxic ink in case your teething baby happens to put this magazine in his or her mouth as babies are prone to do.

While reading these magazines to your budding Einsteins this is also a wonderful time of bonding. The cute stories and poems will be a fun thing to share.

Ranger Rick Magazine

Now that your baby has grown up learning about animals (which is often subject matter in youthful books and magazines) would your youngster like learning more about them? Perhaps you have even taken your child to zoos where they can see living and breathing specimens in hopefully natural settings?

Whether they have animals to play with in their home environments or not their interest can be furthered by giving them a Ranger Rick magazine subscription of their very own. Animals and nature are beautifully portrayed from the National Wildlife Federation which issues this magazine plus others devoted to children's interests.

Ranger Rick Magazine

Ranger Rick
Ranger Rick

This is a magazine for youngsters that I would really recommend. Most kids who are elementary school age really like this one. It is filled with all kinds of subjects related to nature and animals. Beautiful photography might even entice older kids or adults to peruse it from what I have seen. It is a present that I have enjoyed giving and would consider giving again to kids who are approximately 7 to 10 years of age.

If your kids no longer wish to keep them as a collection, consider passing them on to libraries or waiting rooms in medical settings. This is a gift worth sharing with others!

Kids Discover Magazine

Do you have a budding scientist on your hands? Does your son or daughter like to know what makes things tick? One of these magazine gift subscriptions would be the perfect gift!

Just imagine the help this will be in school as he or she progresses through the grades. It might even spark ideas of what they wish to pursue by way of education in later years.

Sports Illustrated Kids Magazine

Is the child that has a birthday coming up or some other special occasion in which you would like to give a gift a sports fan?

Does he or she already play soccer, baseball or football? How about tennis, basketball or softball? Is that child interested in golfing or some other area that is sports related? A Sports Illustrated magazine specifically dedicated to kids is sure to please!

American Girl Magazine

Magazines dedicated to girls could happily engage them for hours on end.

By the time they have thumbed through the pages of magazines like this getting ideas of what other girls their ages might be thinking or what the latest styles in clothing or hairstyles might be, another delivery in the mail will have them eagerly looking forward to the next edition.

When they have girlfriends over or go to other friend's homes don't be surprised if this magazine is brought out and used as a topic of discussion.

Disney Magazine and Others

There are so many good choices of magazines for the special kids in your lives!

What could be better than a Disney Magazine? Haven't most of us grown up loving Disney?

Or is your child eager to keep up with the latest Pop Star?

It has been proven that encouraging reading from an early age helps children in school and even beyond school age. Vocabulary is built. Interests can be developed which can enrich their lives. Why not consider a purchase of kids magazine subscriptions the next time you are searching for great gift ideas?

Comics to Cereal Boxes...

Encouraging your kids to love reading is the essential part! Even comic books might encourage them to start reading! Do whatever it takes to put your child on the right track. Whether you are purchasing comics, books, newspapers or magazines or even have them start reading cereal boxes...any and all of these things are important.

Life is a continual learning experience. Reading is an integral part of becoming and staying well informed to make good decisions along the path of life.

      Hi Patricia,

What could be better than to encourage youngsters to read? It is a lifelong gift that keeps giving. Nice to know that many of these magazines were in your school library when you were teaching. Sending good thoughts your way!

O yes Peggy such a great gift. And these are excellent choices...I had many of them in my classroom over the years even though many were in the library. And I so enjoy still giving these as gifts today. pinned

      Hi Au fait,

I could have made this a much longer article by listing more magazines but hopefully got the point across as to magazine subscriptions making wonderful gifts for children. Thanks for the shares.

There are lots of great educational magazines for kids nowadays. When my daughter was growing and I was homeschooling here she must have had a dozen different magazine subscriptions, and we read them all as part of our curriculum. Magazine subscriptions are a great gift that keep giving all year long.

Some other great magazines include Highlights and Muse. Voting this up and UI, posting on Awesome HubPages and sharing!

      Hi Rajan,

Anything that we can do to encourage kids to start reading on their own is always a good idea. A magazine subscription...something that suits their interests or introduces them to new ones would always be a welcomed gift. Appreciate your comment, votes and the shares.

      Hi Peggy,

I like the idea of magazine subscription as a gift to children since it not only gives them something to regularly look forward to but it gives them the view of what is going on currently.

Fantastic info and one we should provide kids.

      Hi Eddy,

I think that when kids get to open a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly magazine addressed just to them it can only help encourage reading and therefore help them grow in knowledge regarding many other things as well. A magazine subscription is a terrific gift and often not very expensive...thus, a win-win for everyone! Appreciate your comment.

      Hi unknown spy,

I know what you mean. Getting a monthly magazine subscription (or however frequently it is delivered) is exciting for a child and certainly is a great and inexpensive gift. It encourages reading which is all to the good. Nice that someone thought enough of you to do that for you when you were a child. Thanks for your comment.

      Hi Alicia,

I agree with you. Getting a child interested in reading with a magazine showing something of interest to him or her and arriving in the mail with their name on it each month or so is a smart thing to do. And magazine subscriptions do not cost an arm and a leg. Thanks for your comment.

A magazine subscription as a gift for a child is a great idea, Peggy. When I was a child I loved reading the magazines that my parents subscribed to for me. I looked forward to each new edition of a magazine and was so happy when it arrived! Reading a magazine that covers a topic that they're interested in is a great way to encourage children to read.

My kids get Highlights "High Five" magazine (geared toward the preschool set) and National Geographic Kids. They love them! We also get the Lego Club Jr. (a free monthly publication for Lego fans - my son's favorite mail)! They love magazines because the content is fresh and there are often mazes and other activities included in the issue.

      Hi Prasetio,

I know that these kids magazine subscriptions are geared towards the U.S. market, but aren't there some in Indonesia that would also make great gift ideas for kids in that part of the world? Perhaps you could do a hub geared for that market? Encouraging reading is what this is all about while pleasing them with a gift they like at the same time. Thanks!
