Kissed A Dream (poem)

Updated on August 20, 2015

I close my eyes and gently kiss a dream

Which wandered through the window of my life

This fount of Joy from which all wonders stream

Now wipes away the meaning of all strife

-

Surprising when one floats in mid nowhere

The flights of fantasy one’s free to greet

Through a world one never knew was there

Why even time unwinds in this retreat

-

The sound of beating heart again recalls

Me back to see my vision of delight

This one who holds the path to hallowed halls

My dream to hold imagination tight

-

Her eyes now closed yet lies cannot conceal

She’s waiting for me in a world more real

The last two lines kind of get me. I think this can be interpreted in several ways. You've left the reader to wonder. Very nice, Martin.

I really like this, Martin. I envision him watching his love sleep, reaching out to her in her dreams.

What a beautiful poem. When our dreams are soft like this, it sure would be nice to live there for a while.
