Kissed A Memory (poem)

Updated on August 21, 2015

She kissed a memory of long ago

She thought for just one moment he was here

Again the one her dreams had come to know

When visions of romance were far more clear

He’s off again just wandering through night

So long away from longing in his arms

So long away from all he had in sight

What mental mist now calls him from her charms

He’s there she felt him passing in a kiss

A kiss a light for him which will not stray

A heartbeat just for him he couldn’t miss

A dream so true how could it slip away

She kissed a memory that didn’t last

And dreams forever somewhere in her past
