Kissing (poem)

Updated on May 2, 2015

They wondered where the two had gone

There as a party greeted dawn

To this would all their fancies spawn

They found them behind curtains drawn

Kissing

-

For that is how they passed their day

As minutes slowly ticked away

And every spot where lovers stray

Would find these two at their display

Kissing

-

In this they thought all life was for

This endless pleasure nothing more

Till greater purpose washed ashore

A world was waiting to explore

Kissing

-

But jealous people told them go

So hurtful were the words they’d throw

And in their hate a truth would show

About a thing they didn’t know

Kissing

-

Now no one knows just where they went

And no one knows the hours they spent

But something grew from deep lament

When from the moon was message sent

Kissing
