Knocking at Love’s Door

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Anticipation of that first touch,

is palpable,

a souls yearning

deep, glistening

in the eyes of possibility.

The warmth of a smile,

a furtive glance

imbued with hope,

a dream’s potential.

Laughter masks

the ache,

the blissful end,

approaching.

Then, a hand brushes;

the electricity,

the heart swelling,

a soul sighing.

A gasp of breath taken

and held,

as eyes lock, considering,

searching for clarity.

Slowly, gently,

lips meet, and hearts radiate,

falling

into the warm folds

of passion.

Deeper, surrendering,

love ignites,

begins.
