No light at the end of the tunnel.

Life; some have it easy;
others have to struggle
through thick and thin
and never realize the
head or tail of it.

When there is "no light
at the end of the tunnel",
it is easy "to call it a day",
and to relax the mind, or
continue with its misery.

There will be no turning
back; and reality becomes
just a word without any real
meaning. It tends to carry only
questions with no answers.

"Jumping through hoops"
at night has made "counting
sheep" a more better exercise,
but that too would practically
lead to nowhere in particular.

Thus, when life turned into a
battle with no more opportunities,
as everything else has failed,
looking back would be the sole option,
but that could hardly be pleasant.
