Life's beach

Updated on October 20, 2012

I walked along the beach today

and thought about a dream

I was on a mirror, in a mirror

looking down at me.

A reflective, spiraling entity

appeared beyond the scene

vibrating colors shaped like diamonds

with lightening eyes between

each cell became golden yellow

and crimson underneath

a translucent veil of enormous force

and massive energy

pushed itself upon my weight

and held me sway, lightly

and whispered gently about a time

that I will always be.

About a time, within a time,

that I am always free.

And, showed me my awareness

as far as I could see.

Every thought that I thought

became realtiy.

Everything I've ever touched

was all a part of me.

Anyone I've ever loved

I've loved especially

for truth reveals its likeness

the moment it's conceived.

I closed my eyes in remembrance

and for a moment I perceived

my creation always evolving

a never-ending sea ...

I walked along the beach today

beside a forming dream ...

unfolding, as I looked upon

how everything was me.

I detect so much more than the surface here - and much that is beneath my own easy surface. This is absolutely volcanic with such meaning:

      ". . . lightening eyes between

      each cell became golden yellow

      and crimson underneath

a translucent veil of enormous force

      and massive energy

      pushed itself upon my weight

      and held me sway, lightly

and whispered gently about a time

      that I will always be. . . ."

Of course its full context is important and meritorious. Just that those lines jumped off the page!

I recall an experience so like that when I was 21. I'm curious to know when you wrote it. In any case, I believe I like this poem even more than "Sustenance", which I love, too. I admit that some of your poems will require more acquaintance. But that's OK. I've some time.

Ah! A poet emerges from the shadows and illuminates our pages with authenticity, with depth with lucid thought. Welcome to hub pages. If Descartes had been a poet, he would have writen this! At the very least, pretended that he had. Stunning poetry.

Between the energy, color and multi-dimensional levels of your expression, "a time, within a time" and "a mirror, in a mirror" caught my attention. Your writing style is unique and beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us here on HubPages.
